HALBA places great importance on maintaining as direct a relationship as possible with its suppliers, prioritizing those that demonstrably implement sustainable practices. Transparency and traceability are at the core of our approach: a significant portion of our raw materials comes from certified partner cooperatives, helping to avoid intermediaries and ensuring fair prices for suppliers. Whenever possible, we aim for shorter transport routes and increasingly source raw materials from Europe instead of overseas to reduce CO₂ emissions.
Certifications such as Fairtrade or Bio Suisse play a significant role in our procurement strategy and form an important basis for adhering to social and environmental standards in the country of origin of the raw material. Additionally, we are committed to specific, innovative sustainability projects in the countries of origin, the progress of which we measure and document.
We take responsibility along the entire value chain and continuously strive for improvements in resource management, fair working conditions, and the promotion of long-term partnerships in the supply chains.
